PRIME FAVORITES ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF

POTASSIUM CHLORIDE SALT BLEND

Prime Favorites, Inc., Morris Plains, NJ

Morris Plains, New Jersey Sept. 15, 2005: Prime Favorites, Inc., has announced the introduction of a commercial-quality Potassium Chloride salt blend featuring its proprietary NeutralFresÒ formulation. This finished product has been formulated to be poured, shaken or measured in food preparation, as well as to be served as a sodium-free table salt.    This represents a significant advance in the elimination, or substantial reduction, of sodium in prepared and packaged foods, soups, sauces and gravies, as well as cooking and table usage.

NeutralFres®, a natural ingredient formula, removes the metallic, bitter taste of Potassium Chloride, while maintaining a similar taste to sodium-based salt. Prime Favorites, Inc., had previously announced successful results blending its NeutralFres® with Potassium Chloride. The development of its Potassium Chloride salt blend as a finished product provides prepared food producers and consumers a substantial advantage in eliminating excessive sodium intake.

Health officials in the United Kingdom and the United States have urged the reduction, or elimination, of sodium in the diet since it has been identified as a significant risk factor in developing high blood pressure and subsequent heart disease. At the same time, The National Academy of Sciences (NAS, Washington) recommended an increase of potassium intake to 4,700 mg per day based upon the evidence of potassium’s role in controlling hypertension and preventing stroke.

Unlike traditional ‘masking’ agents, the Prime Favorites NeutralFres® naturally neutralizes the off-flavors of Potassium Chloride.

Prime Favorites, Inc., is a food science company engaged in addressing, and resolving, the issues of adverse taste in soy-, dairy proteins-, herbal-, and mineral-based food.
